Most guys skip the leveling compound. They think the underlayment will hide the dip. It won’t. I spent three days grinding concrete on a job last month just so the floor wouldn’t click like a castanet. That same level of neglect happens with grout. You spend thousands on Italian porcelain and then treat the grout […]
Most guys skip the leveling compound. They think the underlayment will hide the dip. It won’t. I spent three days grinding concrete on a job last month just so the floor wouldn’t click like a castanet. When you see a straight line cracking through your grout, it is not a coincidence. It is a map. […]
The subfloor secret that contractors hide Most guys skip the leveling compound because they think the underlayment will hide the dip, but it never does. I spent three days grinding concrete on a job last month just so the floor wouldn’t click like a castanet. I walked into a luxury condo where the brand-new laminate […]

It demands an understanding of the molecular density of the material and the physics of the bond between the repair compound and the vitrified surface. I spent three days grinding concrete on a job last month just so the floor […]
Most guys skip the leveling compound. They think the underlayment will hide the dip. It won’t. I spent three days grinding concrete on a job last month just so the floor wouldn’t click like a castanet. That job taught me that shortcuts always surface later. Whether it is a dip in the slab or a […]
I spent three days grinding concrete on a job last month just so the floor wouldn’t click like a castanet. Most guys skip the leveling compound because they think the underlayment will hide the dip. It won’t. I carry that same obsession into every shower I inspect. Last week, I looked at a master bath […]
